NICO LIFE DOMINATES AT INSURANCE SPORTS

 NICO Life Insurance Company Limited employees had a memorable Saturday afternoon at the College of Medicine Sports Complex in Blantyre as they dominated the Insurance Institute of Malawi (IIM) Sports Day for the Southern Region. Out of 11 sports disciplines, NICO Life had superb performances in four disciplines. As a team, they did it in netball while Mizeck Chiweza, Chifundo Bema and Patrick Kwelepete triumphed in individual fields of chess, darts and bawo respectively.
NICO Life's sister company NICO General Insurance were the best in football while Old Mutuals and UGI's outfits clinched honours in volleyball and tug-of-war respectively. In individual performances, Real Insurance's Christina Mbera, Eagle Insurance's Elliot Chirombo and Kingfisher Associates' Lawrence Sapanga grabbed first positions each in bottle race, sack race and pool.
During prize presentation at the end of the event which saw over 10 insurance and broking companies participating, NICO Life marketing manager Moffat Katundulu cherished his employees' performance. "As a life insurance company, it is really more rewarding to note that our employees are able to demonstrate the importance of having a healthy mind and body," said Katundulu. According to IIM president Lester Chinyang'anya, the event, which is organised annually since 1978, aims at promoting social interaction and creating a right forum for insurance companies to share their knowledge. |
